Roger Federer was in full flight in his Hopman Cup return.

Playing his first Hopman Cup match since 2002, the 35-year-old Swiss showed he still has high hops.

It was Federer's first match since he fell to Milos Raonic in a five-set Wimbledon semifinal last July.

The 17-time Grand Slam champion, who partnered Martina Hingis to lead Switzerland to the 2001 Hopman Cup championship, paired with Belinda Bencic in a 4-0, 4-1 victory over Evans and Heather Watson—Hopman Cup mixed doubles matches use the "Fast 4" scoring format
—to cap Switzerland's 3-0 victory over Great Britain.
