Janko Tipsarevic rises 28 rankings spots in the ATP World Tour Rankings (to No. 118) after cruising through the Bangkok Challenger without dropping a set.

The former World No.8 has battled injuries for several years and he dropped off the rankings for a bit. He started last season in the high 600s but managed eight tour-level victories, including his first Grand Slam victory in three years at the 2016 U.S. Open.

“I am pain free, physically fit, ready for any challenge,” he said. “Rankings-wise I would be happy if I finished the year in the Top 30. This would be a very big achievement.”

He added: “With a little bit of luck—hopefully no injuries—I think I can get there towards the end of the year.”

Tipsarevic returned to the tour last May after sitting out the 2015 US Open with right knee patella tendonitis. He had returned to the tour in April 2015 after missing 18 months due to nagging foot issues that required two surgeries to remove a benign tumor.
