Ahead of his second-round encounter and four-time Aussie Open finalist Andy Murray, hard-serving Sam Groth talked about how tough it will be to face the clever Scot. “[It would] Be nice if his wife went into labor overnight, “ Groth joked. “I might be just cheering for that one.”
Murray has stated unequivocally that he’d skip off to be with his family if the moment came, but his wife Kim is reportedly not due until mid-February. That means Groth might want to come up with a better strategy.
“I've got nothing to lose,” Groth said, once the laughter died down in the press room. “He's going to be tough. He's a quality player. He's where he is for a reason. I look forward to getting out there."
