Haddad Maia closing in on the Top-10

Another brilliant week for the Brazilian southpaw sees her rise up the WTA rankings continue. 26-year-old Haddad Maia locked up her 400th WTA win en route to the semifinals in Abu Dhabi and rises two spots to a career-high No.12 for her efforts.

Zheng Qinwen pushes +5 to Career-High 24

Another semifinalist at Abu Dhabi clicks a career-high this week – that would be China’s Zheng Qinwen, who is up to 24 in the rankings as of Monday.

Zheng is 15th in the Race to the WTA Finals as of Feb 13.


Potapova Rides Title to New Career High

Linz champion Anastasia Potapova rocks up 13 spots to No.31 in Monday’s ranking, from 44. Potapova was outside of the Top-100 this time last year.

Potapova is currenly fourteenth in the Race to the WTA Finals.




Samsonova +4 to Career-High 15

Russia’s Liudmila Samsonova continues her fine form on tour as well, jumping up four spots after reaching the final at Abu Dhabi last week.

Vondrousova Biggest Riser

Marketa Vondrousova of the Czech Republic makes the biggest jump inside the Top-100 this week. The 23-year-old reached the semis at Linz before falling to Potapova. The former World No.14 and Roland-Garros finalist is up from 89 to 74 in this week’s rankings.
