Djokovic thanked the President for his support during his visa imbroglio and subsequent deportation from Australia last month.
Twenty-time Grand Slam champion Djokovic told the media in Belgrade he "will make an official statement in the next 7 or 10 days" detailing his side of the story of exactly what happened during his detention down under.

"I am very grateful for your acts that also put you in a troubling political position in international relations," Djokovic told President Vucic on Thursday. "I will remember that for a long time."
President Vucic praised Djokovic as a role model for the nation because the 34-year-old Serbian fought "not only for himself, but his country."
"Thank you for the great fight you fought in Australia," the President told Djokovic.
