There wasn’t tons of movement in the ATP’s Top-10 on the Monday after the new rankings were released, but there were some big moves in the Top-100.
Matteo Berrettini (7 to 6) flip-flopped with Andrey Rublev (6 to 7) and that was it inside the Top-10. Rafael Nadal stays at No.5 and Daniil Medvedev moves to No.2. The Russian is still 890 points behind World No.1 Novak Djokovic.
Fritz hits Top-20
Taylor Fritz, who reached the round of 16 for the first time at the 2022 Australian Open, rises to a career-high ranking of 20 (from 22) while Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz ticks another career-high, rising two spots to 29.
Federer drops to 30
Roger Federer dropped some points from Australia, and slips 13 spots to No.30 – it’s the first time that the Swiss maestro has been outside the Top-25 since February 5 of 2001. He will drop some more points between now and the grass season and will likely be unseeded at Wimbledon, if he plays.
Dominic Thiem is close to making his return to tennis in South America next week, but the Austrian will do so outside of the Top-30 – Thiem drops 21 points to No.37 in the ATP rankings as of Monday.
Alex de Minaur jumped nine spots thanks to his round of 16 performance at the Australian Open. The 22-year-old former World No.15, who lost to Jannik Sinner in straight sets, was the biggest mover inside the Top-50.
The biggest positive mover in the Top-100 was Serbia’s Miomir Kecmanovic. He jumps 14 spots to No.63, while Adrian Mannarino jumped 11 to No.58 thanks to his fine round of 16 run at the Aussie Open.
American Maxime Cressy jumped 11 spots as well, to No.59 – the 24 year old reaches a career high, thanks to his round of 16 run at Melbourne, which was just his fourth career main draw appearance at a major.
Botic Van de Zandschulp of the Netherlands also cracked a career high and Top-50 debut at No.50, after reaching the third round at Melbourne.
A few other notable career-highs: 21-year-old Argentinian Sebastian Baez, who comes in at 77, and 18-year-old Holger Rune, who rises to 97.
