Dominic Thiem's torrid start to August could be a Babolat boon.
Thiem won his home title on the red clay of Kitzbuhel last week and stretched his winning streak to six matches charging into the Montreal quarterfinals for the first time.
Thiem: Dream Dividends in Montreal
The two-time Roland Garros finalist endorses the Babolat Pure Strike, which is getting plenty of TV time ahead of its official launch at the end of this month.
Babolat announced it will launch the third generation of the Pure Strike this month. The brand promotes the third generation as a precision instrument "that combines dynamic control with intact feel and unbeatable responsiveness for offensive performance players."
Here's what Thiem, who is scheduled to participate in the official launch in New York City, has to say about the Pure Strike.
Over 100 Babolat ambassadors, including Thiem, helped develop and test the racquet by providing feedback at key milestones in the development and cosmetic design process.
Compared to the previous Pure Strike, the brand touts "71 percent reported better feel at impact and 78 percent reported more control."
"It feels really stable in my hand when I’m playing, gives great control but also a lot of power," Thiem said. "It’s perfect."
The Babolat Pure Strike will be available in the following models:
*Pure Strike 18 x 20 string pattern, 98 square-inch head
*Pure Strike 16 x 20 string pattern, 98 square-inch head
*Pure Strike 100 square-inch head
