Martina Hingis swept Wimbledon doubles and mixed doubles titles last month, showing her skills as one of the game's greatest doubles players.

Asked to pick her ideal partner in a dream doubles match, Hingis had no hesitation.

The current world No. 2 doubles player picked her good friend, second-ranked Roger Federer, for an all-Swiss doubles team against a pair of iconic champions.

"Roger Federer, I would pick him as a partner against Martina Navratilova and Pete Sampras," Hingis tells the International Hall of Fame in the video above. Hingis is an ambassador for the Newport-based Hall of Fame.

The Swiss masters have shared the court before under varied circumstances.

In 2001, Hingis and Federer joined forces to lead Switzerland to the Hopman Cup championship with a win over Monica Seles and Jan-Michael Gambill in the final.

There was talk of Hingis and Federer joining forces to play mixed doubles at the 2012 Olympic Games held at Wimbledon.

Hingis said then she just didn't have enough preparation, but given the fact Hingis opened the year winning the Australian Open mixed doubles title with Leander Paes and partnered Paes to win the Wimbledon mixed crown last month, could we see a Swiss Dream Team of Federer and Hingis at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio?

Federer, who won the Olympic gold medal in doubles with Stan Wawrinka, ball boyed for Hingis before turning pro.

While he wants to play with Hingis, Federer has said in the past the demands of playing singles, doubles and mixed doubles at the 2016 Games may be too much.

"She has approached me, and I said I’d give it some thought,” Federer said. “The problem is, I don’t know how I play singles, doubles, mixed within an eight-day period...I'll obviously give it some thought because I have a lot of respect for Martina."

We can always hope.
