Fognini Smash!

Adrian Mannarino upset Fabio Fognini in the second-round on Day 5 of the US Open, 6-3 6-4 6-1, to reach the third round at the US Open for the second consecutive year.

It was a good day for the Frenchman, but not so much for the Fabulous Fognini, who committed 63 unforced errors, and has now failed to make the second week of a major for the 12th time in 13 Grand Slams since he reached the French Open quarterfinal in 2011.

But Fognini over achieved when it comes to racquet smashing. He bounced his stick up over his head after his temper got the best of him (see video above), and when he wasn’t satisfied with the initial damage done, he broke the stick in two pieces, sending the handle flying.
