Watch: Coach Venus

Venus Williams is excelling in her new role: Coach.

The four-time Olympic gold-medal champion hasn't played a Tour-level match this season, but continues to contribute to the sport as a coach.

The 41-year-old superstar is here to help you—recreational tennis players all over the world—offering free and very cool tennis lessons on her YouTube Channel.

Recent episodes feature Venus teaching the serve and forehand in detailed instruction.

Former world No. 1 Venus is an energetic and positive coach, whose lessons are sound, straightforward and fun.

Williams is a conversational coach who poses questions new players might ask like "why use the closed stance instead of the open stance when hitting a forehand?" Then she answers those questions and backs up her lessons with demonstrations.

One of the most profound servers in WTA history once told Tennis Now she studied the serves of Pete Sampras and Boris Becker to sharpen her serve when she was growing up.

"Actually, Sampras and Becker were my serving role models growing up. I watched them both growing up," Venus told Tennis Now. "The key to a good serve? Ultimately, I think it's timing.

"When you're relaxed your timing is on. And when you're not relaxed you can go too fast in the serve motion. So the key is being relaxed. Obviously, you need to have those techniques down and having your timing on point is very important. Those are keys."

We look forward to Venus' lessons on the drive volley and smash.
