Traditional rivals Australia and the United States reunite for the record-extending 47th time in this weekend's Davis Cup quarterfinals in Brisbane.

The players all speak the same language, but are worlds apart in slang.

Tennis Australia put players from both nations to the test asking them to define the opposition's slang.

It's a barn-burner between budgie smugglers when America plays Australia in slang game above.

"Does anyone actually say this stuff?" an amused Sam Groth wonders at one point. "I've been living in America for four years and I swear no one says this stuff."

Jack Sock, Steve Johnson, John Isner and Sam Querrey form the American squad that will face Australia's Nick Kyrgios, Jordan Thompson, Groth and John Peers for a place in the Davis Cup semifinals in September.
