Nicolas Mahut took Davis Cup dedication to new places today.

When it comes to effort, the world No. 5-ranked doubles player is second to none.

Watch Mahut fly into the stands to retrieve a smash.

Remarkably, Mahut saved another smash while scrambling in the crowd.

That extraordinary effort, which came after three hours and seven minutes of play, prompted French fans to chant "Nico! Nico!"

While the British pair of Dominic Inglot and Jamie Murray won a wild point, Mahut returned to court partnering Julien Benneteau to a 7-6 (7), 5-7, 7-5, 7-5 victory.

The three hour, 20-minute triumph gave France an insurmountable 3-0 lead over Great Britain, clinching France's trip to the Davis Cup semifinals in September.
