Evans smiled off the attack, repelling Benneteau, 6-1, 6-2, in the dead rubber.

France completed a 4-1 Davis Cup quarterfinal victory over Great Britain, which was without world No. 1 Andy Murray, to advance to the September 15-17th semifinal where it will host Serbia in a rematch of the 2010 final.
