Second Serve

Andy Murray has begun his training on the clay but he is still unable to play at full tilt due to the injury to his right elbow. During this interview on Sunday at the Patrick Mouratoglou Tennis Academy Murray says that he isn’t quite sure if he’ll be able to play Monte-Carlo next week due to the state of his elbow.

"Last four or five days I started to serve a little bit," said Murray. "I'm not serving as fast as I would like, yet. But I'm hoping over the next five or six days I'll be able to start serving like normal again."

Murray was asked when we'd see him play next, and replied confidently about making Roland Garros. But he does not seem sure about playing the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters. "French Open for sure," he said. "Monte-Carlo, I'm trying but I need to be patient because the elbow could take a bit of time."

Murray was fit enough to play an exhibition with Roger Federer in Zurich on Monday, so it appears that his recovery is progressing nicely. That said, it doesn't seem very likely that he'll enter Monte-Carlo next week.
