Muguruza Out of Fed Cup

Continuing recovery from an ankle and Achilles injury, Garbine Muguruza announced she's out of Spain's Fed Cup World Group Playoff tie vs. France and aiming for a return at Stuttgart.

The reigning Roland Garros champion hasn't played since retiring from her fourth-round Miami match against Caroline Wozniacki with dizziness last month.

"I continue to have discomfort in the tendon that is preventing me from practicing seriously," Muguruza said in a statement she posted on social media. "I am hopeful to be able to compete in Stuttgart."

Muguruza reached the Indian Wells quarterfinals last month after retiring from her match in Dubai due to the Achilles injury.
