Dayana Yastremska has backed up her first career WTA win with another . The 16-year-old Ukrainian reached her first career quarterfinal with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Russia’s Anna Kalinskaya at the Istanbul Cup.

Yastremska, who was a Wimbledon Girls’ Singles runner-up last summer, won 16 of 17 second-serve return points and converted all seven of her break points to win in 67 minutes.

The World No.420 will face either Jana Cepelova or Sara Sorribes Tormo in the quarterfinal.

No.2-seeded Timea Babos (d. Perrin), No.3-seeded Irina-Camelia Begu (d. Flipkens), No.5-seeded Sorana Cirstea (d. Sakkari) and No.6-seeded Elise Mertens (d. Kozlova) were also winners on a busy Wednesday in Istanbul.

Ayla Aksu (d. Kulichkova) and Cagla Buyukakcay (d. Zanevska) also advanced as well as Romania’s Alexandra Cadantu (d. Hibino).
