The two-time Wimbledon champion announced she has hired ATP pro and fellow Czech Frantisek Cermak as her new coach. The partnership will officially begin in Stuttgart.
The 39-year-old Cermak has played Challengers as recently as February.
Kvitova parted company with her former coach of seven years David Kotyza after the Australian Open.
“I have been with David for seven years and I need a little bit of a break,” she said during Indian Wells. “I think it has been a long time to be with David. All the things we did were really working. We had two Grand Slams and he did a great job. But I think I still need to improve a lot of things. My aggressive game I think can be more consistent and trying to improve the serve and the first shots in the rallies.”
