One win on a dirt track was one big reason to celebrate for Caroline Wozniacki.

On a day in which two of the top three seeds—top-seeded Maria Sharapova and third-seeded Petra Kvitova—lost in Stuttgart, Wozniacki rallied to score her first clay-court win of the season—matching her entire 2014 victory total on dirt in the process.

The fourth-seeded Wozniacki fought back from a break down to beat Lucie Safarova, 7-6 (5), 6-1, and advance to the Stuttgart quarterfinals where she will play eighth-seeded Carla Suárez Navarro, who defeated Belinda Bencic, 6-4, 7-6 (1).

"It's always nice to get a good win under your belt and now I have officially won as many matches as I had all last clay court season, so I think it's time to celebrate!" Wozniacki joked after the match. "But I played pretty well today and I'm pleased about the way I was moving on the court."

Wozniacki showed her drive off court visiting the Porsche Museum.

Training with three-time French Open champion Arantxa Sánchez-Vicario to improve her clay-court game may prove to pay dividends for the former world No. 1, who suggested Sánchez-Vicario's devotion to her family may well prevent the Spaniard from traveling to clay-court tournaments.

"We trained in Miami and we really got some good workouts in," Wozniacki said. "[Sánchez-Vicario] gave me a few pointers how to play on the clay. We'll see how the schedule in the next few weeks. She has small kids and a family so we'll see how it works out with the traveling."
