It's no longer a love match between two of the Czech Republic's biggest tennis stars.

Petra Kvitova and Radek Stepanek are going their separate ways according to Czech newspaper Blesk.

The pair, who started dating last year, apparently couldn't make things work out due to the rigors of traveling apart while on separate tennis tours.

"To combine a career and a (relationship) between two top players is sometimes impossible," Kvitova said in an interview.

Stepanek was previously married to former pro Nicole Vaidisova and also dated Hall of Famer Martina Hingis. Kvitova once dated Adam Pavlasek who she knew from her junior days.

A spokesman said that both Kvitova and Stepanek will remain friends.
