Jannik Sinner is reportedly set to begin a new chapter in his career, with former World No. 2 Magnus Norman joining his coaching team in December.

According to The Times of London, Norman, the longtime coach of three-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka, will join forces with Sinner and Simone Vagnozzi as Australian coaching legend Darren Cahill prepares to step away after four-and-a-half years with the Italian.
Norman, who reached a career-high ranking of No. 2 during his playing days, is best known for guiding Wawrinka to three Grand Slam titles. The Swede, who co-founded the Good to Great Tennis Academy after his career, has worked with Wawrinka for nearly a decade across two separate stints and is widely regarded as one of the sport’s most accomplished coaches.
He will have massive shoes to fill.
Cahill, one of the most respected coaches in tennis history, and a former coach of Lleyton Hewitt, Andre Agassi and Simona Halep among others, helped transform Sinner into a dominant force on the ATP Tour during their time together. Under the Aussie’s guidance, Sinner captured his first five Grand Slam titles and rose to World No. 1, a ranking he has held for 95 weeks, including a streak of 65 consecutive weeks. He also finished the 2024 season as the ATP’s year-end No. 1.
Cahill had been contemplating retirement from coaching for some time, and it appears that the long-anticipated transition is finally set to take place, with the Italian in good hands.
The coaching change comes as Sinner prepares to return to competition following a lengthy injury layoff. The 25-year-old went 44-3 on the season with six titles but ran into a roadblock after Wimbledon.
The Italian has been sidelined since Wimbledon with a right knee injury, but he recently committed to playing the Six Kings Slam exhibition in Saudi Arabia in late December, a sign that his recovery is progressing.
According to the Times, Norman will begin working alongside Vagnozzi in December. His last week coaching Wawrinka is occurring this week in Basel, where the 41-year-old is set to strike his final lethal backhand in anger.
