Mboko Out of Rome Due to Ilness
Rising star Victoria Mboko will miss this year’s Internazional BNL d’Italia in Rome due to illness.
The World No. 9 will head to Roland-Garros without a clay-court win to her name this season.
Mboko has been replaced by Czech lucky loser Nikola Bartunkova in the draw.
The Canadian is 19-7 on the season, including a final in Doah and back-to-back quarterfinals at Indian Wells and Miami. She has played just once since Miami, losing to Caty McNally 6-4, 6-1 in Madrid.
