Family comes first for Casper Ruud.
The 12th-ranked Ruud has withdrawn from Norway’s Davis Cup Qualifying First-Round tie against Great Britain this weekend in order to spend time with his fiancé Maria Galligani, who gave birth to the couple’s first child, a daughter, last weekend.

Ruud shared a short of their baby daughter on social media.
“Thank you for all the beautiful messages these past couple of weeks,” Ruud captioned a photo of his baby daughter. “Maria and our baby are doing great.”
The 27-year-old Ruud, who had planned to leave the Australian Open early if his partner went into labor during the Melbourne major, will not play at this weekend’s Davis Cup tie at the Nadderud Arena.
Ruud’s departure coincides with British standout Jack Draper’s return.
Reigning Indian Wells champion Draper, who has been sidelined since he withdrew from the US Open before his second-round match, is set to face Norway’s world No. 329 Viktor Durasovic in the opening match of the best-of-five-match tie.
British veteran Cameron Norrie is scheduled to play Norway’s world No. 135 Nicolai Budkov Kjaer in the second singles match.
