Carlos Alcaraz completed the career Grand Slam winning his maiden Australian Open on Sunday.
The next items on the world No. 1’s agenda are rest and recovery.

Reigning Rotterdam champion Alcaraz has withdrawn from next week’s ABN AMRO Open in Rotterdam, the tournament announced today.
Carlos Alcaraz won't defend his title in Rotterdam. The Australian Open champion concluded that after his exertions over the past two weeks, he needs more time to return to action.

“Carlos Alcaraz won’t defend his title in Rotterdam,” the tournament announced on social media. “The Australian Open champion concluded that after his exertions over the past two weeks, he needs more time to return to action.”
A year ago, Alcaraz scored successive three-set wins over Hubert Hurkacz and Alex de Minaur to capture his first title of the 2025 season in Rotterdam. Alcaraz went on to win 8 titles and post a 71-9 record last season.
In Alcaraz’s absence, Alexander Zverev, who lost to Alcaraz in a punishing AO five-set semifinal, will be the top seed. Felix Auger-Aliassime, Alex de Minaur, Jack Draper, Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Bublik and Karen Khachanov are all scheduled to play Rotterdam.
The 22-year-old Alcaraz is next scheduled to play at the Qatar ExxonMobil Open in Doha starting on February 16th. Alcaraz reached the Doha quarterfinals last February falling to Jiri Lehecka 3-6, 6-3, 4-6 in the quarterfinals.
