Alcaraz Locks Down ATP’s Year-End No.1 Ranking

Carlos Alcaraz has claimed the year-end No.1 ranking for the second time. The Spaniard eliminated his rival Jannik Sinner from the race on Thursday in Turin, defeating Lorenzo Musetti 6-4, 6-1 to complete group play undefeated at the ATP Finals.

Alcaraz is now the 11th player to hold the year-end No. ranking multiple times.

Alcaraz is one of 19 players that have held the year-end No.1 ranking, from 29 players that have featured as ATP World No.1s. The Spaniard became the only teenager to achieve the feat in 2022. 

He has won 70 matches in a single season for the first time, and claimed seven titles – Monte-Carlo, Rome, Roland-Garros Queen’s Club, Cincinnati, US Open, Tokyo – already. At the ATP Finals he has matched his best performance by reaching the semifinals.
