484-Ranked Montgomery Reaches First WTA Final

21-year-old Robin Montgomery was off tour for eight months last year, and underwent a minor procedure to her wrist. It was something that had to be done, and now the D.C. native, who cracked the Top 100 for the first time last June, has been sent spiralling all the way down to No.484.

She won’t be there for long.

On Saturday in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Montgomery reached her first WTA final, defeating Ajla Tomljanovic 6-4, 6-2 in 68 minutes to set a title clash with two-time major champion Barbora Krejcikova.

Montgomery is making her second career grass-court appearance at tour-level. She qualified for the main draw and has won six stright on the grass.

Krejcikova powered past Poland’s Magda Linette, 6-3 7-6(4) to reach her first tour-level title since she won Wimbledon in 2024.
