Bouzková Hires Conchita Martinez as Coach

Conchita Martinez is back in the coaching game. Martinez will coach world No. 34 Marie Bouzková in 2024, she told Eurosport Spain.Nadal: Ready to Face Fears and DoubtsFormer world No. 2 Martinez made history in 1994 when she defeated Martina Navratilova to become the first Spanish woman to win the Wimbledon.In 2017, Martinez coached Garbine Muguruza to the Wimbledon championship with the hard-hitting Spaniard stopping Venus Williams in the final.
Last April, Martinez and Muguruza announced the end of their long-time partnership. The 2022 Prague champion, Bouzkova has developed into a dangerous grass-court player and should benefit from Martinez's all-surface experience.In 2022, Bouzkova knocked off Caroline Garcia en route to the Wimbledon quarterfinals where she tested Ons Jabeur in a three-set loss.
