Martina Hingis is through to the 52nd doubles final of her WTA career, but number 52 took a while. Having last played a doubles final more than seven years ago, where she won the Doha title, Hingis had been retired from the tour since late 2007.

But in only her second event with new partner Sabine Lisicki (Hingis played five events with Daniela Hantuchova in 2013, never managing to win two matches in a row), the magic appears to be coming back for the nine-time Grand Slam doubles champion.
After saving seven match points in their quarterfinal win over Anabel Medina Garrigues and Yaroslava Shvedova, Hingis and Lisicki rallied from 4-2 down in the second set to take out Cara Black and Sania Mirza, 6-3, 6-4 on Friday.
“Yeah, it's been a while, seven years, right?” Said Hingis. She added: “I think we just--the chemistry works out well. You know, what [Sabine] doesn't have I have and vice versa. So I think it's really a great match that we played together.”
Hingis and Lisicki, wildcards in Miami, are planning to stay together as a team and play various events during the spring and summer. “I think it's definitely up to Sabine. I mean, her priority is her singles,” Hingis said.
Lisicki is through to her fourth career doubles title.
Hingis and Lisicki will face either Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina or Raquel Kops-Jones and Abigail Spears in Sunday's final.
