(July 27, 2010) Jim Courier swept the 1995 LA title without dropping a set. Courier was once again the main attraction at the LA Tennis Center at UCLA on Monday night. Courier received the Farmers Classic tournament honoree award during a special ceremony on opening night of the ATP World Tour 250 tournament.
The award has been given annually since 1985 to a person who has greatly influenced the growth of tennis through their playing career and other contributions to the sport.
The 1997 Farmers Classic champion, Courier is one of only three players to win the tournament title without dropping a set since 1995 (Juan Martin del Potro in 2008 and Andre Agassi in 1998 are the others). He was 7-3 in Los Angeles in his career.
"I have had the privilege of participating in the Farmers Classic for many years, and I am humbled to be this year's Tournament Honoree," Courier said.

Courier took to the court partnering actor, comedian and noted Vince Spadea fan, Jon Lovitz in a pro-am exhibition against former French Open champion Michael Chang and rock star Gavin Rossdale.

Kids' Day will be held today starting at 9:30 a.m., and will include clinics and tips from Rainer Schuettler and Marcos Baghdatis, who are both former Australian Open finalists.
