(March 25, 2012) It's been a long time since Martina Navratilova went out in the first round of any competition, but she'll be in dire straits Tuesday night when "Dancing with the Stars" eliminates its first cast member.

Navratilova earned the lowest score of the night - a 17 out of 30 - looking out of sync and dressed in bizarre fashion on Monday. After a respectable showing in the reality hit's season premiere, Navratilova bottomed out in her Week 2 performance while dancing the quick step to Billy Joel's "Tell Her About It." She wore red cha-cha pants and a short red top under bizarre netting – was Aquaman doing wardrobe checks backstage?

The video montage that introduced Martina and partner Tony Dovolani showed her struggling with a toe injury. As Jimmy Connors watched from the audience, the tennis champ started off her dance with several missteps; she staggered her way through the rest of her routine.

The playful end to the dance that celebrated her sexuality couldn't save her from the judge's fair but brutally honest comments - and from earning the lowest score of the night.

"I blew it, but you keep coming back," Navratilova said after the dance. "You pick yourself up and dust yourself off."

Through two dances, Navratilova is dead last on the leaderboard with a combined total of 37 out of 60 points. Opera singer Katherine Jenkins is at the top, with 52 points.

Each week, a competitor is eliminated based on fan voting. Navratilova must hope that fans give her enough votes to continue to next week, a grim prospect considering the number of popular celebrities and strong performances were on display Monday night.

If Navratilova is to survive to week three, she'll need ‘Dancing’ fans to like her more than one of the other bottom feeders from this week: Gavin DeGraw, Melissa Gilbert, Gladys Knight, AND or Jack Wagner.

After a roaring debut, Knight looked a lot more like her 67-year-old self in struggling through the quick step and only earning a 19/30, the second-lowest score after Navratilova's.

Gilbert danced to "Dancing with Myself" by Billy Idol, who she apparently dated in the 1980s. She earned 20/30 and was rather dull in her interview.

DeGraw continues to live in denial that people believe his non-stop wearing of hats is for any reason other than the fact that he's going bald. He only earned a score of 21, the same as Wagner, who is slowly starting to look like Skeletor without his stage make-up on.
