Novak forehand(January 20,2012) With the bottom half of the draw being filled in on Day 5, Day 6 will send the last eight into the round of 16. Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, and David Ferrer will look to keep pace with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

Djokovic will face off against a Frenchman in Nicolas Mahut, who he last played and defeated in 2006. The Serb will look to continue his dominance as he has yet to drop more than three games in a set thus far.

Andy Murray will continue his bid for his first ever Grand Slam title against Michael Llodra of France. The Scot defeated Llodra at the 2008 U.S. Open, dropping a set. He currently holds a career 2-0 record over the Frenchman.

David Ferrer will try to work his way into the fourth round, but will need to get past Juan Ignacio Chela of Argentina who has a career 2-1 record against the Spaniard. However, Ferrer defeated Chela in their latest matchup at the 2007 U.S. Open.

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has found himself in a good part of the draw and he’ll play Frederico Gil of Portugal. The hard-hitting Frenchman has a pair of straight set victories over Gil dating back to 2009.

Another French firecracker, Gael Monfils will look to advance past Mikhail Kukushkin. The two have never played each other in tournament play.

Australian hopeful Lleyton Hewitt will look to continue his dream run at what may be his last Australian Open. He’ll play the big-serving Canadian Milos Raonic. These two have also never met in tournament play.

Other matches include Janko Tipsarevic vs. Richard Gasquet and Julien Benneteau vs. Kei Nishikori
