“It was fantastic,” said Krajicek, after he and his partner improved to 7-2 lifetime in Davis Cup doubles matches. “Davis Cup is one of the most special events that we look forward to every year. Representing your country, and these away ties are always fun to play. Obviously everyone’s cheering against you, but that makes it fun for us, and I thought the attendance was great. Really a great atmosphere. And the whole time we were in the city this week, these last eight days or so, we’ve had a great time, so it was a great trip and hopefully we’ll get to come back in the future.”

The U.S. will next host a formidable Czechia team in the final Qualifying round September 12-14, with the winners advancing to the Davis Cup Final 8 in November in Bologna, Italy.

“The week went very well for our team,” said Captain Bob Bryan. “Obviously the goal coming in here was to get three points any way we could. We knew we were up against a very tough team on the road in a far-away place, but our guys came here, they practiced well. They had a lot of fun together.”
