2019 runner-up Jelena Ostapenko stormed past Great Britain’s Jodie Burrage 6-1, 6-2, while 2015 champion Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova battled past Elise Mertens 6-2, 6-3, to set a final four clash between the pair.

Pavlyuchenkova, ranked 42, is into her second WTA semifinal since 2022 knee surgery, while Ostapenko, this year’s Adelaide champion is two steps from her eighth career title.

Pavlyuchenkova clocked 32 winners to just eight for Mertens to improve to 3-1 against the Belgian.

Ostapenko jumps to 11-2 on the season – she has lost four of her five previous meetings with Pavlyuchenknova.

Elsewhere at Linz, Donna Vekic advanced with a 6-0, 7-6(2) win over Clara Burel. She will face Ekaterina Alexandrova, who defeated defending champion Anastasia Potapova, 6-2, 7-6(8), in the semis.
