On the day of the 2024 US Open singles draw, No.4 seed Elena Rybakina has announced that she is no longer working with longtime coach Stefano Vukov.

The 25-year-old announced the news on her Instagram stories, saying “After five years Stefano and I are no longer working together. I think him for his work on court and wish him all the best for the future.”

Rybakina commenced working with Vukov in February of 2019 and he guided her to the Wimbledon title in 2022. Eventually, Vukov followed up on a two-year old bet and had her name tattooed on his body to honor the title at SW19.

It has been a difficult season for Rybakina, not necessarily because of her performance on court, but her ability to stay healthy.

She missed events at Indian Wells, Rome, Berlin and the Olympics, all due to illness.

Overall she is 40-9 on the season with three titles and a 3-2 record against the Top-10 that includes a win over No.1-ranked Iga Swiatek and No.2-ranked Aryna Sabalenka.

She will face a qualifier in the first round at the US Open.
