Marta Kostyuk has been a proven commodity on tour ever since she reached the third round at the Australian Open. Now she’s a WTA finalist.
20-year-old Kostyuk took out Danielle Collins 6-4 6-3 in Austin on Saturday to reach her maiden WTA final. The Ukrainian, ranked 52, has had a solid year, reaching quarterfinals at Adelaide and Hua Hin, and the third round at the Australian Open.
She has lost just one set at Austin this week.
Gracheva, ranked 88, has won three three-setters to reach the final, including a 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 win over Katy Volynets on Saturday.
Kostyuk owns a 3-2 record over Gracheva, but lost to the Russian in their last meeting in Chicago in 2021.
