Each week, in partnership with our friends at Tennis Express, we bring you two players—one from the ATP Tour and one from the WTA Tour—whose star shined brighter than any other.

Our Player of the Week picks don’t necessarily have to raise a title trophy, but they do need to exhibit the qualities that we love to see on court – competitiveness, artistry, defiance, passion, commitment and, of course, a winning attitude.

Read on for more about this week’s ATP selection, Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime:

FAA is flying high again.

Auger-Aliassime defeated J.J. Wolf 6-4, 6-4 in the Florence final on Sunday to capture his second career title.

The title run comes eight months after Auger-Aliassime beat former No. 1 Andy Murray, Cameron Norrie, Andrey Rublev and Stefanos Tsitsipas in succession to capture his maiden title at Rotterdam.

That Rotterdam rise snapped an ignominious streak: Auger-Aliassime had been 0-8 in his first eight ATP finals. He's won his last two title matches in succession and is savoring success.

"It never gets old. Winning, it always feels like the first time," Auger-Aliassime said in his on-court interview. "It's so special to win, especially here. I had a fantastic week and it's been amazing."

After going three sets in his Florence opening-round win over Oscar Otte, Auger-Aliassime did not drop a set in tournament triumphs over Brandon Nakashima, third-seeded home hero Lorenzo Musetti and Wolf growing progressively stronger with each round.

The Florence title vaults Auger-Aliassime to No. 7 in the ATP Race to Turin as he takes aim at qualifying for the prestigious ATP Finals.

FAA, the last name to beat Novak Djokovic—he swept the seven-time Wimbledon winner at Laver Cup last month—is pumped to secure a spot in Turin.

"The plan right now is to play every week, to play in Antwerp, Basel and Paris because there are still tournaments to play and the Race is very close," Auger-Aliassime said. "There [are] players like Taylor [Fritz] and Andrey [Rublev], and many others are competing hard right now to try and qualify, so I'm going to try to put myself in the best position possible to try and make it to Turin."
