Yulia Putintseva continues bringing her best in Budapest.
Reigning Hungarian Open champion Putintseva held a 6-0, 2-0 lead when Lesia Tsurenko retired from their Budapest quarterfinal today.

Tsurenko was understandably depleted after winning the longest WTA main draw match of 2022 and seventh-longest of the Open Era, in 3 hours and 53 minutes over Kamilla Rakhimova yesterday.
It is Putintseva's eighth straight Budapest win and sends her into a quarterfinal clash vs. Aleksandra Krunic.
The 105th-ranked Serbian swept Xiyu Wang 6-0, 6-1 to reach her first semifinal of the season. Krunic, who won the first eight games of the match, improved to 5-12 lifetime in WTA quarterfinals.
The third-seeded Putintseva has won both prior meetings vs. Krunic. The pair last played at the 2015 Roland Garros with Putintseva posting a 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 victory.
American left-hander Bernard Pera broke serve five times in a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Elisabetta Cocciaretto.
The 130th-ranked Pera raised her 2022 record to 5-5. Pera will play Anna Bondar for a spot in Sunday's final.
Twenty-five-year-old Hungarian Bondar thrilled home fans toppling second-seeded Martina Trevisan 6-4, 6-1.
