Current World No.31 and former Wimbledon semifinalist Julia Goerges has begun a trial base with longtime coach of Kiki Bertens, Raemon Sluiter.
The pair were seen on court today at a grass-court event in Germany.
Goerges, a former WTA World No.9 who owns seven singles titles, had previously worked with Michael Geserer, Jens Gerlach and Sebastian Sachs.
Sluiter, a former ATP World No.46, worked with Bertens from August 2015 until November 2019. Together the pair had tremendous success, with the Dutchwoman topping out at No.4 in the WTA rankings and a semi-final appearance at Roland Garros in 2016.
“We worked together for three days at the beginning of June and I’ve been with him in the Netherlands for 10 days now,” Georges said of the new trial with Sluiter. “It’s not enough time to make a proper assessment … I like his style. It’s very factual and constructive.”
