Felix Auger-Aliassime is working hard in Spain at Rafael Nadal’s academy this winter. The Canadian posted photographs of himself hitting under the watchful eye of his coach Frederic Fontang and Toni Nadal.
Auger-Aliassime is hoping to continue his progress in 2021. The Canadian, still only 20 years of age, reached three finals this season, but dropped all three. He now owns a 0-6 lifetime record in ATP singles finals.
Auger-Aliassime, who finished the year ranked No.21 in the world, has been spending some quality time with a man that knows a thing or two about winning titles. He retweeted this picture of himself with the King of Clay Rafael Nadal on Friday.
Reportedly Auger-Aliassime hit with academy player and fellow youngster Aaron Cohen on Friday, and chatted with Nadal afterwards. Hopefully he arranged a few practice matches with the Spaniard during that chat.
Auger-Aliassime is the youngest player to reach five or more ATP finals since Rafael Nadal in 2004-2005 and he did manage one title in 2020 – a doubles title alongside Hubert Hurkacz in Paris..
