It was such a crazy day on social media that we absolutely had to do an emergency Twitter rundown just to bring you all the amazing stuff that tennis Twitter produced, all in one post.
So here goes…
1. Tennis got all emo over Marco Chiudinelli, who played his last event at the Swiss Indoors Basel today. The 36-year-old, who win the Davis Cup in 2014 with Roger Federer, was given a wild card to play his final event, and fell to Robin Haase on Monday.
2. Speaking of Federer, Roger and his family were in attendance, and the Swiss maestro got a little emotional.
3. In other news, it appears that Nick Kyrgios has a big fan in Venus Williams, and he appreciates that.
4. Speaking of Aussies, Sam Groth announced that he’s calling it a career at next year’s Australian Open. He’s had enough of the grind, but he admits it has been one hell of a ride.
5. Monica Puig and Maria Sharapova visited Puerto Rico to bring needed aid to the region—a job well done by these two tennis stars.
6. There was also tennis on Monday—and brilliant tennis at that…
7. It’s Andy Murray, hitting tennis balls! A good sign for sure.
8. Gotta love Caroline Wozniacki, she’s so game for anything. A little flat on the vocals though.
9. Serious storms happening in Singapore. Good thing the WTA Finals are an indoor event!
10. Congrats to Chan Yung-Jan, who becomes the 36th WTA player to ever ascend to the No.1 doubles ranking.
