A pair of players riding nine-match winning streaks will go head-to-head in the Rabat final on Saturday.
Francesca Schiavone defeated Varvara Lepchenko, 7-5, 6-4, to notch her career-best ninth straight win, while Anastasia Pavlychenkova downed Sara Errani, running out the final nine games to win 6-4, 6-0.
The Russian is coming of the Monterrey title in early April, where she defeated Angelique Kerber in the final. The Russian will be bidding for her 10th career title. She did lose at Fed Cup after her Monterrey title, but the Fed Cup match does not count as an official WTA match, according to the WTA.
36-year-old Schiavone, playing her last season on the tour, will bid for her ninth WTA title. She won the crown in Bogota title in April, defeating Lara Arruabarrena in the final.
Pavlyuchenkova owns a 4-3 lifetime edge over Schiavone. The pair has not met since 2014, and the Russian has won their last three meetings.
Schiavone won a memorable French Open quarterfinal in three sets against Pavlychenkova in 2011.
