Irina-Camelia Begu reached her first final on home soil and her first of 2017 on Saturday by defeating No.2-seeded Carla Suarez Navarro 7-5, 7-5 at the BRD Bucharest Romania.
Begu snapped a two-match losing streak against the Spaniard, breaking seven times on 13 opportunities to improve to 2-2 lifetime against Suarez Navarro.
The 26-year-old World No.58 improved to 3-6 against the Top 50 and has won all eight sets she has contested this week in her hometown.
