In Saturday’s first semifnal, Flipkens edged Estonia’s Anett Kontaveit, 7-6(6), 6-4, to reach her first final since 2013.
Flipkens rallied from 5-3 down in set one to claim the first set in the tiebreaker. She broke twice on eight opportunities to race out to a 5-1 lead before closing out her victory over the 20-year-old in one hour and 42 minutes.
"It's going to be a good match and I'm looking forward to it," Flipkens said after the match. "It's been my first final in a long time in WTA so I'm gonna enjoy 100 percent."
Flipkens has won both of her previous meetings with Watson.
