Second-seeded Anna Karolina Schmiedlova continued her winning ways in Seoul with a three-set victory over Christina McHale.

Second-seeded Anna Karolina Schmiedlova continued her fine fun of form at the Korea Open in Seoul on Wednesday, nudging past Christina McHale, 6-2, 4-6, 6-3, to set up an encounter with fifth-seeded Mona Barthel.

Schmiedlova has now won 17 of 20 matches (including qualifying victories) since dropping out of Wimbledon in the first round.
The World No. 31, who recently turned 21, broke seven times on ten opportunities vs. McHale, including two of two in the deciding set.
Barthel, who defeated Spain’s Mariana Duque-Marino, 6-2, 6-2, will meet Schmiedlova for the first time on Friday in Seoul.
Also reaching the quarterfinals were eighth-seeded Alison Van Uytvanck, who needed two hours and fifteen minutes to get past Katerina Siniakova in the 3rd-set tiebreaker, and Johanna Larsson, who upset seventh-seeded Julia Goerges, 6-4, 7-5.
