Vasek Pospisil was unbreakable advancing to the Valencia Open semifinals.
Pospisil denied all four break points he faced defeating qualifier Daniel Brands, 6-3, 6-3, to advance to his first ATP semifinal since he made the final four in Washington, DC 14 months ago. Pospisil defeated Richard Gasquet before losing to compatriot Milos Raonic in the all-Canadian Washington, DC final.

The world No. 43 will face Joao Sousa in the semifinals. Sousa stopped Pablo Cuevas, 6-4, 6-4, in 92 minutes.
Sousa beat Pospisil in straight sets in their lone prior meeting at Roland Garros in May.
Contesting his fourth quarterfinal of the season, Pospisil won 27 of 31 points played on his first serve collecting his 25th victory of the year.
Pospisil has not dropped a set in three tournament wins, facing just five break points along the way. He partnered Jack Sock to win the Beijing doubles title earlier this month.
