The 2023 season has seen Sweden's Dragos Nicolae Madaras experience professional highs and lows.

The left-hander reached an ATP career-high rank of No. 191 on July 17th. Now his career has bottomed out with a provisional suspension over corruption charges.

Madaras has been provisionally suspended from tennis since August 17th pending the resolution of corruption charges against him, the International Tennis Integrity Agency announced today.

The provisional suspension was imposed under Section F.3.b.i.1. of the TACP: F.3.b.i.1.

The Covered Person has failed to comply with a Demand.

Madaras appealed the provisional suspension, but his appeal was dismissed by independent Anti-Corruption Hearing Officer Professor Richard McLaren on September 22, 2023. That means Madaras is banned from playing in, participating, coaching or even attending any tennis tournament run by the game's governing bodies.
