Alize Cornet is saying no to China this fall.

The 33-year-old French veteran is opting out of WTA tournaments in China due to her convictions.

"True to my convictions and attentive to my health, I have decided that I will not play in China this year," Cornet announced on social media.

The move will likely cost the 99th-ranked Frenchwoman her place in the Top 100.

Cornet's reference to "convictions" is a reference to Chinese player Peng Shuai, who publicly accused a high-ranking Chinese government official of sexual assault.

The WTA initially pulled out of China calling for a complete and transparent investigation into Peng Shuai's case, however the Tour lifted it's China ban last April.
