On the 100th anniversary of the 1924 Paris Olympics, the City of Light will again light the Olympic flame.

Roland Garros was a focal point of Paris’ winning bid and will be a major venue for the 2024 Olympics.

The French Open home will host the Olympic tennis event marking the first time since the 1992 Barcelona Games that the Olympic tennis tournament will be staged on red clay.

Five of the last six Olympic tennis events have been staged on hard court.

The 2012 London Games tennis event was played on grass at the All England’s Club. The 2020 Tokyo Olympics will contest tennis on hard courts.

Tennis isn’t the only sport Roland Garros will host in the 2024 Paris Games.

The iconic venue will also host boxing, rugby and basketball.

The 1900 Paris Olympic Games were the first to feature both men’s and women’s tennis as Olympic events.
