Stan Wawrinka wore all-raspberry to rule the Big Apple.
Wawrinka, who famously wore plaid shorts that resembled a table cloth during his run to the 2015 Roland Garros title, had been wearing a raspberry shirt and black shorts before going all in for the colorful look on the blue US Open hard court.
Wawrinka: I Cried Before Final
In this video interview with his racquet and apparel sponsor, Yonex, shot shortly after Wawrinka dethroned defending champion Novak Djokovic in the US Open final, the third-seeded Swiss explains why he decided to sport the all-raspberry in New York.
"I like it. It's the first time I was playing full rasberry with the short also," Wawrinka said. "Before I was playing with the black short. I like it. That's why I keep it. It's simple. I think it looks good in the pictures. I think it's a little bit different than what everybody is wearing. It was great."
