In an interesting turn of events, Argentina turned to 29-year-old world No. 114 Leonardo Mayer in Sunday’s decisive fifth rubber against Great Britain in Glasgow. Leaving Juan Martin del Potro on the bench seemed a scary proposition, particularly after Mayer dropped the opening set to Dan Evans, but Mayer roared back to capture the victory in four sets to book a spot for Argentina in its fifth Davis Cup final.

They’ll face Croatia in November at Croatia.
