Second Serve

The say defense wins championships. Well it also wins sets. Check out this grueling point, won by Ukranian Lesia Tsurenko over Dominika Cibulkova.

This was a classic lung-buster. At no point in the rally did Tsurenko have control—until that final scorching backhand. Where did she find the energy to hit that?

Tsurenko would go on to claim a 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 victory over No.12-seeded Cibulkova and she’s into the round of 16 at a Slam for the first time in a her career.

Tsurenko, ranked 99 in the world, will face No. 7-seeded Roberta Vinci in the fourth round.
